Large and Small Pitch

Tsubaki sets the industry standard with each new generation of cutting edge roller chain innovation. In 2007 Tsubaki introduced our 7 th Generation of ASME/ANSI premium, drive series roller chain, raising the bar yet again. That means stronger, longer lasting chain than ever before.

At the heart of this generation of Tsubaki roller chain is the patented PerforMax™ bushing. This solid construction, lube grooved bushing replaces the curled bushing in chain sizes 80-140, providing a precise round shape for better surface contact between the pin and bushing. The lube grooves hold oil between the bushing and pin, significantly increasing the chain’s wear life, in some cases even doubling it. Superior materials and manufacturing methods give Tsubaki chains considerably higher fatigue and tensile strengths. Chain sizes 80-240 now transmit up to 33% higher horsepower than our previous chains. This means a smaller, less costly chain will provide the same horsepower capacity as a larger chain previously required. Longer life, more horsepower; that saves money.

Other features and benefits of Tsubaki roller chain include:

  • Ring-coined connecting links eliminate the “weak” link, providing the same fatigue strength as the base chain.
  • Higher tensile strength for superior impact resistance.
  • Heat treatment to achieve ideal hardness.
  • Shot-peening provides greater fatigue strength.
  • Pre-stressing minimizes initial elongation and time consuming adjustments.

Tsubaki chains exceed ASME/ANSI standards for power and performance.

Note: ASME/ANSI chains are manufactured to specifications outlined in ASME B29.1, formerly known as ANSI B29.1.
