QUALITY ENGINEER

Currently, U.S. Tsubaki has an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer in our Sandusky, Ohio location.  

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Attends daily Production meetings to communicate with team and respond to quality issues.  Makes suggestions to reduce non-conformances and eliminate sorting/rework. 
  • Ensures document and data are controlled per ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.
  • Performs QA functions when required. Looks for opportunities to eliminate non-value added activities.
  • Maintains accuracy and schedules related to QA support functions, including Verification /Calibration of Gages and test equipment.
  • Ensures lab supplies are maintained.
  • Assists with constructing process flow charts / work instructions, etc.
  • Ensures quality hold rack / nonconforming product are dispositioned in a timely manner. Coordinates resources required to address quality concerns.
  • Coordinates production activities in conjunction with process changes and testing needs.
  • Participate in quality ISO 9001:2015 /environmental ISO 14001:2015 audits to help identify and resolve quality and environmental system deficiencies.
  • Report to direct Manager any issues prior to missing an objective.
  • Ensure quality requirements are met and improved upon for internal manufacturing processes.
  • Lead internal meetings to drive corrective actions to various departments.
  • Perform various internal layered process audits / Gemba Walks to continually improve internal quality and production.
  • Construct Certificate of Conformance / Tests as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.  
  • Equivalent combination of training and 3-5 years of QE experience

  CNC LATHE OPERATOR - 2ND SHIFT

Currently, U.S. Tsubaki has an excellent opportunity for a full-time CNC Lathe Operator (Second Shift) in our Sandusky, Ohio location.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Operates a compliment of multiple machines in a safe and productive manner consistent with procedures and guidelines.
  • Assists others in operation of various machines during set ups to maintain work flow and efficiency.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints.
  • Removes, replaces or sharpens any related tools or blades, resets and/or makes adjustments as necessary.
  • Ensures lab supplies are maintained.
  • Able to use measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges and similar devices for the purpose of maintaining and documenting quality requirements.
  • Able to select proper materials/parts as prescribed by routing package, and load appropriate materials/parts into machines or feeding devices.
  • Thorough knowledge of machine operation and machining practices as related to the equipment. Able to perform all essential job duties.
  • Able to operate any material handling equipment or be trained.
  • Able to perform running maintenance as required.
  • Must maintain work area in neat, orderly condition.
  • Performs all related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Basic math skills, i.e. ability to subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.  Use fractions and decimals.  Able to work with rate, ratio and percent calculations as well as graphs.
  • Problem solving skills – able to reason and think through issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Associates degree or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school preferred, and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Moderately active work that is typical of a manufacturing plant.  Examples include pushing, pulling lifting, standing, bending, twisting.
