Environmental health and safety specialist (EHS) 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Implement, train, and maintain all corporate health and safety programs and coordinate safety training programs for employees and outside contracted services.
  • Maintain overall Environmental Management Systems (EMS) to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies and conformance to the ISO14001 standard.
  • Facilitate workplace safety incident reporting, and lead team approach or accident investigation.  Determine root cause, and develop, assign, and track corrective action requests regarding workplace accidents.
  • Promote EHS awareness through internal correspondence, specific training programs, and company communication boards.
  • Advise facility of regulatory changes through working with our consultant that would apply through regular compliance reviews.  Provide sufficient notice to assure proper level of compliance by the effective date of the new regulations.
  • Develop, implement, maintain and administer overall facility security programs.

Requirements:

  • Successful applicants should possess a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or in a Health and Science discipline.
  • At least five years of EHS leadership experience in an industrial environment.
  • Some experience with lean manufacturing, project management, and ISO procedures is preferred.

Quality Engineer

Essential Job Functions:

  • Primarily responsible for meeting our quality requirements and goals as they relate to PPAP, problem resolution, documentation and change approval.
  • Provide leadership for continuous improvement team activities in specific manufacturing departments.
  • Coordinate activities with both Manufacturing and Quality Assurance, particularly on issues related to customer requirements.
  • Active participation in defining inspection requirements, acceptance limits and inspection plans to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Identify areas for improvement related to customer quality and recommended solutions to identified problems. Implement approved changes using quality principles and document requirements on a timely basis.
  • Work closely with manufacturing operations to identify and resolve production and quality system deficiencies.
  • Help facilitate continuous improvement and learning across functional areas through training and communication of quality initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline.
  • At least 3 years of Quality Engineer experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, high volume automotive manufacturing company.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, project management and ISO procedures are preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills and communication skills are required.
  • Ability to travel as needed, including internationally.
  • ASQ certified is a plus.
  • Familiar with TS16949 certification requirements.

 Production Supervisor

Essential Job Functions:

  • Direct and coordinate union personnel within the various departments involving the various stages of manufacturing and assembly of automotive parts, specifically timing chain system components.
  • Responsible for leading shop floor personnel to attain daily quality, delivery and productivity goals.
  • Coordinate production with other functions (scheduling, engineering, and maintenance).
  • Experience working in a Unionized setting.
  • Leader of continuous improvement to achieve specified business goals.

 Production Engineer

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead Plant in the implementation of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.
  • Support production by troubleshooting and improving existing tools, dies and equipment.
  • Design, improve and troubleshoot automated machines and continuous processing equipment.
  • Establish process and equipment capabilities; analyze manufacturing processes using statistical methods and design of experiments methodology.
  • Ability to train and work closely with Shop Floor personnel.
  • Cross-functional support for the Manufacturing, Quality and ME departments.
  • Fluency in MS Office and Solidworks or similar CAD software.

Requirements:

Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift

Essential Job Functions:

  • This position is responsible for the day to day recording and validation of materials, production prcoess and finished goods.
  • Maintains quality standards by approving incoming matrials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results.
  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Perform first article inspections to support the component qualification process.
  • Perform product identification and traceability activities, as required.

MATERIALS MANAGER

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for  managing the entire Materials area, including quotations, supplier selection, pricing, delivery and supplier quality.  Manages both direct and indirect material suppliers.  Responsible for quotation and delivery of all prototype parts, including supplier tooling requirements.  Works with Sales area on preparing quotations for new products.
  • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders.  Includes direct and indirect material.
  • Appraise supplier manufacturing ability through on-site visits and measurements.
  • Manage supplier performance to meet quality and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities.
  • Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.
  • Select transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution.
  • Assess appropriate material handling equipment needs and staffinglevels to load, unload, move or store materials.
  • Set and manage appropriate inventory levels.  Manage product changes, inventory obsolecence, and accuracy.
  • Responsible for multiple sites: Homebase Portland, TN.  Other sites include Chicopee, MA and Westfield, MA.
  • 25-30% travel required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree, higher education is preferred.
  • Ten years of experience in supervising/managing supply base.  Knowledgeable of support functions, including systems and logistics.
  • Working knowledge of performance indicators, including quality, delivery and price.  Develop systems to collect data and provide feedback.
  • Working knowledge of APQP process from prototype stage through production.  Experience in developing new suppliers in conjunction with new product programs.
  • Working knowledge of modern manufacturing systems, including MRP, Purchasing, and Inventory Control.  Experience in implementing new systems is helpful.
  • Direct experience in negotiating with suppliers.  Develops strategy to reduce costs over the long-term horizon.
  • Experience in logisitics and warehousing, including traffic.  Familiar with negotiations among common carriers and emergency service providers.
  • Strong background in standard costing and quote preparation.  Develops cost/quote history, and implements system based on part similarity.

Tensioner Machining Team Lead

Essential Job Functions:

  • Set up and operation, changeover, adjustment and troubleshooting of tensioner lines to manufacture automotive tensioners and components, following established work standards.
  • Maintenance of the quality of these components and tensioners is sustained and monitored utilizing statistical quality control methods.
  • Assisting of Tensioner assembly operators in the identification and analysis of problems and downtime causes in order to improve the efficiency of the equipment and raise the production output of the individual assembly lines.
  • Working to specifications, schedules, orders and general instructions of department supervisor.
  • Analyzes equipment failures, determines cause(s) and makes necessary adjustments or repairs to ensure any concerns which may affect operational objectives is communicated to Manufacturing Engineering/Production Supervisors in a timely and effective manner.
  • Document maintenance activities and equipment repairs.
  • To plan and carry out planned preventative maintenance on all Tensioner Machining Equipment aiming to achieve maximum plant availability, with a target of zero unplanned downtime.
  • Support continuous improvement activities to improve safety, delivery, and productivity.
  • Maintain MRO inventory.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow standard safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Three to five years related experience and/or training; of relevant combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • High Degree of mechanical aptitude, ability to navigate PLC's, read small quality testing equipment, read blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and pneumatic systems and diagrams.
  • Ability to work self-directed.
  • Ability to operate a fork truck.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of machining tool set-up.

Production Supervisor - 3rd Shift

Essential Job Functions:

  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of work standards, quality standards and disciplines required for world class quality and productivity.
  • TS16949 experience including APQP requirements on new product introductions.
  • "Hands On" experience with formal Continuous Improvement efforts in team setting.
  • Experience with JIT production system and efficient material flow.  Familiar with daily schedule and productivity disciplines.
